Einar Vilberg is a composer, vocalist, multi instrumentalist and producer from Reykjavik, Iceland, best known as the frontman of NOISE - an alternative rock band with whom he has written, produced and released 4 LP´s.
Einar formed NOISE in 2001 with his twin brother Stefan Vilberg and together they have received fantastic reviews from magazines like Rolling Stone Magazine and various others. Their 3rd record DIVIDED got a great response by their fans and critics alike.
The 1st single off the album “A Stab In The Dark” was awarded “Song of the year 2012” in the American Sunset Islend Music Awards. The song was also hugely successful in Iceland and it was picked as one of the top 10 songs of the year by local music reviewers Rjominn.is. The DIVIDED record was also placed among the top 10 albums of the year.
In April 2016 NOISE released their 4th record “Echoes”. The album is an acoustic, symphonic journey that has been praised by local and international music critics as the bands best work to date. Einar Vilberg wrote all the songs as well as writing out the string arrangements in collaboration with Eddie Vedder´s string quartet ‘The Red Limo String Quartet’
In late 2016 Einar was approached by Stone Temple Pilots who at the time needed to fill the lead singer role in the band after Scott Weiland´s tragic passing. Einar flew to Los Angeles and performed 8 songs with STP in the Foo Fighters owned studio 606. Einar was one of the top finalists in the STP singer search that had over 40.000 submissions from all over the world.
In 2017, Einar had an original song of his placed on the Icelandic hit TV show Fangar (Prisoners) with was aired in Iceland and then in 2019 was broadcast in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Spain, USA, Australia, UK and Poland on Netflix.
From 2018 - 2020, Einar released 4 new singles with his band Noise, as well as 2 music videos. The songs were played in heavy rotation on local radio.
In 2020, Einar decided to focus his attention to his long-term solo passion project, where he continues to write, sing, produce and play all of the instruments. Since then, three singles off the yet to be released “acoustic” album have been released. “Eventually”, “Sleepless”, and “So Long”, which you can listen to on Spotify. “Sleepless” has been in regular rotation on the local rock station in Reykjavik since its release in April of 2020.
Einar Vilberg has toured internationally with NOISE, doing shows in various cities in Europe and doing numerous tours in the U.K. Einar is also a renowned record producer and he has produced, recorded and mixed a plethora of local and international bands in his own recording studio HLJÓÐVERK. Einar has also lent his songwriting skills to many other projects as well as doing vocals and playing various instruments for other bands while recording at his studio.
Einar is currently finishing his debut solo records which will consist of one “Acoustic” album and one “Heavy” album.
